Our integrative massage sessions will include some or all of the following massage techniques:
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue techniques include slow, intense, and detailed strokes on the area(s) that is/are giving the most problems. Your muscles lie under your skin's surface in layers. If the muscles causing you pain are located in the deeper layers, your therapist will take time to warm up the superficial layers surrounding them before accessing the deeper ones. Repeated sessions may be required for long-standing conditions. Many clients tend to mistakenly request a "deep tissue massage" when what they really mean is that they want firm or heavy pressure. While heavy pressure can be used while performing deep tissue techniques, these do not mean the same thing.
Swedish
As the most basic of massage modalities, the main purpose of Swedish massage strokes is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. It is recommended for those who are just looking to relax and for those who have never received a massage before or don't receive it very often.
Trigger Point
A trigger point describes a taut band of skeletal muscle located within a larger muscle group. Trigger points are tender to the touch and can refer to pain in distant parts of the body. A client may have regional, persistent pain resulting in a decreased range of motion in the affected muscles. Your therapist will work to locate the irritated trigger point and de-activate it. Treatment of trigger points may require repeated sessions for long-standing conditions.

The use of hot, moist towels in massage therapy, also known as hydrothermal therapy, can help tight muscles relax, soothes irritated nerve endings, and increases circulation. Heated Jade Stones
Many stones and crystals are known to provide their own unique benefits and positive energies. Jade stones are largely connected to the heart chakra and are often referred to as the luck and happiness stone. They harness many beneficial physical and mental healing properties. Physically, jade stone is used to cleanse the body of toxins, and encourage it to effectively heal itself. Jade also aids mentally in replacing negative thoughts with feelings of self-love, courage, and wisdom.
